Art Buddies is excited to partner again with the Minneapolis Downtown Council to participate in their Pianos on Parade program for the summer of 2022.
“The MPLS downtown council invites you to help advance art & music downtown with Pianos on Parade. The program will place 24 pianos throughout downtown Minneapolis during the month of June. Each piano will be painted to evoke my Minneapolis downtown theme (what is YOUR favorite part of downtown that has special meaning to you?) We are looking for up and coming artists to design and paint the pianos for the program. By supporting Pianos on Parade, you will help add more vibrancy to downtown Minneapolis and engage all who work, live and play here.”
This year we teamed up with local Artist, Alexandra Motz, who created the “Bright and Sunny” design for the piano. Over the course of five weeks, Alex worked with young artists at Whittier Elementary School, helping them explore their creativity while painting.

Alexandra Motz is a local artist based in Minneapolis, MN. She strives to create one of a kind original paintings from her everyday surroundings. She creates artwork that is recognizable to the mind, but uses nature's natural geometry to take apart and piece back together using bright vivid colors and textural mediums. Her recent works dip into her career in the culinary arts making each canvas look like a delectible plate of sweet treats! She just wants to make ya'll feel good through artwork, and make your home a brighter space!
