We’re recruiting volunteers right now for our spring programs, which start in April, 2012.
As an Art Buddy, you’ll work one-on-one with your child - while creating side-by-side with a group of other creative people from advertising, design and architecture.
Help your child know the joy of creativity and self-expression, and the fun of working closely with a creative person like you. Watch our video to see what it’s like!
Art Buddies is an after-school program, with workshops at community centers and schools in south Minneapolis. At each program, you’ll create once a week with your child for 6 to 10 weeks.
Make a fanciful and unique costume together, something your child may have never thought possible. Inspire your child with our huge collection of art supplies, including fur, feathers, fake jewels and all sorts of wild stuff.
Plus, create a journal of your experience together – a Buddy Book your child will take home.
On the first day, bring something that shows your child what you do. Most of the kids have no idea what a creative job in advertising or design is like.
At the end of the program, pose with your child for professional photographers, then celebrate your child’s achievement in an exciting parade and performance. Afterwards, join your fellow volunteers at a party in Uptown.
Each spring program ends with an Art Buddies fundraiser. You’re invited to come. Help our wonderful program keep going!
If you can’t be an Art Buddy, perhaps you have something else to offer. Do you have fundraising experience? Have something to donate? Willing to make a cash contribution?
Whatever it is, we welcome your help! .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) and tell us how you’d like to contribute.
Visit our Donate page and contribute. Help us keep bringing creative joy to deserving kids.
Send letters to your contact list at a free dinner party. It’s fun and it works! Join our list and we’ll tell you more about it.
Look at our photos of costumes for ideas on what we need. We love all kinds of wild and exciting materials.
Tell your friends about Art Buddies on Facebook or Twitter.
